Some designs take off instantly. Others need time to prove themselves. These are the sets I second-guessed, and now I’m glad I trusted my gut.

1. Blackout Bliss – I Thought It Was Too Much
Between the deep black base, the chunky glitter flakes, and the full glam effect, I wasn’t sure Blackout Bliss would resonate. I kept asking myself: Is it too much? Too flashy for everyday?
But I’ve learned that sometimes people want a design that feels bold, confident, and unapologetically extra, especially for a special night out or just because.
This one hits all the right notes for glam that doesn’t feel tacky.
Now? It’s one of those sets I wear when I want to feel instantly dressed up, no extra effort required.

2. Split Ink – I Wasn’t Sure People Would Like a Half-Clear, Half-Glossy Look
This one had me hesitating.
It’s a vivid red, glossy and bold, but only on half the nail. The rest is clear, with fine black linework.
I worried: Is the contrast too sharp? Is it too modern? Too graphic?
It felt like a set people would either love or not understand at all.
But once I wore it? I got compliments every time.
It looks intentional, crisp, and edgy, not chaotic. It also lets your natural nail show through just enough to make it feel lighter than a full red manicure.

3. Forever Mousemates – I Thought It Was Too Playful
I wasn’t sure if people wanted something this playful.
The color palette is romantic, soft blush, cream, dusty pink, but the pattern? Subtle nods to a famous mouse couple.
I kept thinking: Would this feel too “young” or too themed for most customers?
But I’ve realized something: sometimes we want nails that spark joy, feel nostalgic, or just make us smile.
Forever Mousemates is surprisingly wearable. It leans romantic and a bit whimsical, but is still grown-up enough to wear anywhere.

4. Vivid Verde – I Wasn’t Sure About the Neon
This one was almost cut from the lineup.
It’s a true neon, bold green with a sharp, glossy finish.
And while I personally love high-saturation colors, I worried: Is this too loud? Too hard to wear?
But when styled right, on shorter nails, or paired with a neutral outfit, Vivid Verde looks intentional, fresh, and modern.
It’s a power move for summer or vacation, and it pops beautifully in real life (and in photos).

5. Modern Hieroglyph – I Thought It Was Too Niche
This one almost didn’t launch, not because I didn’t like it, but because I thought it might be too specific.
The warm-toned base, the abstract linear pattern, the geometric spacing, it gives editorial energy.
I thought: Will this resonate outside of design lovers or art-focused folks?
But what I didn’t expect is how well it performs as a neutral-with-a-twist. It adds interest without being loud.
It’s one of those sets that looks like you put in more effort than you did. That balance makes it a quiet hit.

Final Thoughts
Sometimes what makes a design work isn’t how obvious it is, it’s how it makes you feel once you wear it.
These sets surprised me. And I’m so glad I gave them a chance.
If you’ve ever hesitated on a design or weren’t sure it would suit you, you’re not alone. I’ve been there, and sometimes the best sets are the ones you didn’t expect.
